Amy Fracker, Assistant Director
Jackson School of the Arts
It’s that time of year when we start sensing a little more magic because the fairies return to Jackson School of the Arts. Lights twinkle, pixie dust flies and you can hear the flutter of wings around every corner. Yes, it’s time for Fairy Festival!
What is the Fairy Festival you ask? This 2 day weekend event is the 4th weekend in April. There is so much to do. You can make 6 different arts & crafts projects, shop in Ye Ole Fairy Shoppe, stroll through the Fairy Gardens and vote for your favorite, have tea with Miss Jackson County Crossroads, hear stories in the Forest with JDL, meet a mermaid, take a carriage ride, watch dancing fairies and performances by the Fairy Festival Players. Walk through the Fairy Kingdom and meet a Knight! New this year – Neverland with Captain Hook and his ship. On Saturday, visit with the only surviving unicorn. While admission to the event is free, some activities cost $1-5.
If you’ve never attended this magical event, we welcome you. Prepare to be amazed. Each year, we add new surprises and this year will be the best yet. And dress up!
If you want to add even more magic to the weekend, attend The Twilight Fairy Gala. Those who have attended will tell you that they love this magical one-of-a kind evening. The gala was added to the Fairy Festival to offer families an exclusive private Fairy Festival experience and to help support Jackson School of the Arts and the use of our sliding fee income scale. This event is open to everyone and is perfect for families.
Your gala ticket price and our sponsors help us raise money in support of all kids getting to experience dance, art and theater regardless of their family’s financial means. Fees at Jackson School of the Arts are based on family income.
