JACKSON, MI – Valeria Vazquez has earned the distinction of being the 500th student to register for a class this fall at Jackson School of the Arts.
“We anticipated we would break enrollment records this fall term,” Kim Hastings, the school’s executive director, said. “As we began to approach the 500 mark, we thought it called for confetti and balloons.”
Valeria has been taking dance and art classes at Jackson School of the Arts since 2011. She celebrated this milestone with her mother Marcella, siblings Jessica and Joshua, and dance instructor Ginger McNetton.
Located at 634 N. Mechanic St. in the Art 634 building, Jackson School of the Arts provides year-round out-of-school programs in dance, art and theater for preschool students to adults. The school’s mission is to make the arts accessible to all children regardless of their financial means.
Class enrollment is ongoing. Call 784-2389 for details.
