277 students participated in the Jackson School of the Arts’ four dance recitals on June 9-10.
“The whole point of the program is for the kids to have the opportunity,” said JSA Executive Director Kim Curtis. “They were thrilled to do this.”
Students performed pieces in tap, jazz, ballet, hip hop, Irish and contemporary dance at the Western Community Arts Center. The musical theater class also performed a selection from “Into the Woods,” Curtis said.
Colorful costumes and energy from the young dancers made for a feast for the eyes.
“It’s a neat experience for everybody,” Curtis said.
