JACKSON, MI – Irish dance students brought a little early St. Patrick’s Day cheer to Jackson on Thursday, March 14.
The dancers, from Jackson School of the Arts, visited the Middle School at Parkside, Cascades Elementary School, Sharp Park Academy, St. John Elementary School, Lyle Torrant Center and Ganton Countryside Retirement Community.
The students are taught by Stefanie Howard, Jackson School of the Arts Irish dance instructor, who has been dancing for 10 years. Howard studied traditional Irish dance under a former “Riverdancer” and has toured and competed throughout mid-America as part of a dance team.
Jackson School of the Arts teaches all dance forms to children ages 2 ½ to 17. Students pay according to family income, and the program provides costumes and additional educational and performance opportunities for students.
