For nearly two decades, the Jackson School of the Arts has been a leading provider in arts education. As a nonprofit organization with a mission to make the arts accessible to all children, we offer subsidized fees that are based on household income.
Thanks to community support and a sliding fee scale to give opportunities to disadvantaged children, 79% of the families served were benefited by financial assistance and were able to add creative education and a fresh extracurricular outlet to their routine.
Jackson School of the Arts fundraising efforts with financial contributions from foundations, individuals and businesses are the reason we can allow everyone to pay according to their financial means. If your rate falls below $35 per month, you are in essence receiving a scholarship that was made possible by a donation.
Sliding Scale Tuition Notes:
Jackson School of the Arts has grown into an organization with a reputation for excellence. We continually put a quality experience before profit which is why we keep class sizes small, frequently evaluate our programs and conduct research on best practices. We attribute our steady growth to the values we uphold as an organization.
In addition to our traditional classes, we also create and deliver custom arts education programming for other organizations including preschools, public, charter schools and home school associations, Jackson District Library, YMCA Storer Camps, Lifeways, senior centers, Girl Scouts.
Fees for dance (classes from August to June) are based on a sliding fee income scale and are $24-$35 per month. We do this so that all students up to age 17 can participate in a high quality dance program. Our visual arts and theater classes also use our sliding fee scale to keep our opportunities affordable.
Before you register, you must determine your monthly fee on the registration and fees page. There is no registration fee. You may pay monthly. For your first month’s fee also include the $15 costume usage fee or supply fee. (We rent costumes so you don’t have to buy one.)
To register everyone must pay for a minimum of 1 month of classes plus any supply fee or costume usage fee at registration. There is no registration fee.
Additional Discounts:
Need additional financial support for your child? Complete a scholarship form and turn it in by mail or in person after you have completed your registration. Please note that scholarships are given on a year to year basis. Jackson School of the Arts limits scholarship support to 2 classes per student. Students must maintain good attendance and payment history.
