Sept. 9 – Dec. 9
This is a great opportunity for students to develop their skills as triple threat performers. Learn the art of acting, musical voice and movement Broadway as you practice and learn pieces from classics such as Les Miserables, Into The Woods and A White Christmas. and then…Students will peform as part of the Holiday Extravaganza at the Michigan Theater on December 9 at 2 PM. There is a dress rehearsal on Dec. 3, 1-4 PM at the Michigan Theater. Tickets to the performance are $6 and $4 for students 17 & under. Class fee based on fee scale ($24 to $35 per month) plus $15 costume rental fee. This is a 12 week class. Instructor: Catherine Coffey.

It’s going to be a Holiday Extravaganza! Students in this class will learn how to work as a team and put on a show along with learning the foundations of vocal technique for stage, character building and acting techniques. This class culminates with one acts performed by students in the Holiday Extravaganza production at the Michigan Theater that features dance and theater students on December 9, 2 PM. There is a dress rehearsal on 12/ 3 at Michigan Theater (time will be between 1 and 5 PM) Please be sure your student is available for all these dates prior to registration. Fee based on fee scale plus a $15 fee for costume usage, props and scripts. Tickets to the show will be $6 per person, $4 for students ages 2-17. Instructor: Catherine Coffey.
Sept. 9 – Dec. 2
The Bard is coming to Jackson School of the Arts! Learn about Shakespeare through classical vocal and acting techniques and stage combat. Students will perform scenes from Romeo and Juliet, Twelfth Night, Hamlet and Julius Caesar. A showcase performance for family and friends will be on the last class day Dec. 2 during your class time. Fee based on fee scale. Instructor: Catherine Coffey.
Jackson School of the Arts outstanding theatre program is led by gifted artists with advanced degrees and extensive acting experience with the Purple Rose Theatre, founded by actor and playwright Jeff Daniels. In addition to 12-16 week classes and one day workshops, we also offer private lessons.
