About My First Play & Learn

Our Background

For two decades, Jackson School of the Arts has been known for their art and dance classes that build a strong foundation for our community’s children. We are excited to now expand our offerings to include this flexibile environment for little ones!

Welcoming Start to Education!

My First Play & Learn is Jackson School of the Arts’ warm-and-welcoming entry point for families with children Newborn–3 years. Think of it as a joyful sandbox where little ones (and their caregivers) can explore, wiggle, create, and connect— all inside a real classroom that gently introduces the routines of school.

Program Snapshot:

Ages: 0 – 3 years (pre-walkers welcome—infant mats provided)
Caregiver: One required adult per family
Schedule: Wednesdays, 10:00 – 11:00 AM (Sept – May)
Tuition: $25/month – billed monthly; cancel anytime with notice (written notification must be given prior to the 1st of the month, no refunds are given mid-month)
Location: Jackson School of the Arts, Early Childhood Classroom (stroller-friendly)
What we provide: Age-appropriate toys, sanitized play-mats, art supplies
What to bring: Comfy clothes, water cup, diaper bag, and your sense of play!

Why Families Will Love It

Open-ended play, zero pressure. Kids follow their curiosity through themed toy bins, sensory stations, soft-play mats, and toddler-sized art prompts—moving on whenever they’re ready.
Grown-ups stay & play. Caregivers remain in the room, guiding when needed and soaking up ideas they can recreate at home.
Creative sparks everywhere. Optional mini-projects with safe paints, crayons, or clay let budding artists dabble without a full lesson plan.
Circle-time connection. Each session begins or ends with songs, finger plays, or story snippets so children start recognizing classroom rituals.
Built-in parent network. Chat with other caretakers while the kids mingle.
Seamless with Kids Create. Scheduling lines up so a parent dropping off an older sibling can walk straight to this playgroup with their younger child.

While the group has a dedicated Early Childhood Classroom, we will also be utilizing many other parts of our Downtown facility such as our Art, Dance, Theater, and Gymnastics areas.
