This adult dance class is for beginners to those who have danced Contemporary in the past. Join us for this three week class offering to come and try something new!

We all need some time to recover from our daily routine. Claim some time for yourself by joining us for our Adult Ballet Class. This weekly excursion will not only get you familiar with ballet concepts in a comfortable environment, but will help you become a stronger and more relaxed version of yourself.
This dance studio for a class that incorporates barre work and the very best ballet exercises and techniques that create strong lean bodies.
No ballet experience is necessary.
Wear exercise clothes that make you feel comfortable.

Whether you’ve always dreamed of learning ballroom dance or just want to polish your style and add new moves to your repertoire, our instructors at The Jackson School of the Arts will help you meet your goals while feeling comfortable and confident. We strive to provide a vibrant, but relaxed atmosphere to help you become the dancer you’ve always dreamed of becoming (or at least a better dancer!)
Don’t worry if you’ve never danced before or think you have two left feet. We have the experience to get you past feeling awkward and into feeling great about dancing!

Experience the under-appreciated joy of tap dancing — the satisfaction of essentially playing a musical instrument with your feet while dancing with the rest of your body.
Our Adult Tap class is a fun way to learn rhythm, coordination, tap terminology and choreography. The dances and lessons are choreographed in a way that they can be done by a beginner.
This class will focus on the Al Gilbert Graded Tap Technique that emphasizes rhythm and repetition in the classical tap style. Clean and articulate footwork put to big band style music.
No tap experience is necessary.

For those students that have at least one year of tap experience, our Intermediate Tap class offers the opportunity to add to your skills. There will be a focus on expanding tap vocabulary and learning different styles of tap.

Jazz is a high energy, stamina-building class. We focus on classical jazz technique, with across the floor progressions. This class will pull from classical ballet technique with a focus on body isolations and rhythmic movements. Music styles range from popular music to musical theater to decades from the 60s-80s.

Soar through the air with one of our most popular, new classes! Aerial Hoop is a great way to strengthen and gain body awareness through the circus arts. Join us to discover this thrilling, creative outlet here at JSA.
Dress code: Tight fitting clothing with high neckline, hair up and no jewelry (excluding studs).
Cost: $45 per month ($25 non-refundable Registration Fee)
Private lessons available: $70 for one hour
This aerial fabric class explores 2 different apparatuses that can be used as a dance partner: Aerial Silks and Aerial Hammock (sometimes called Sling). Silks are 2 straight fabrics used to create shapes and routines on the ground and in the air. The hammock is a connected fabric that supports and lifts while offering skills similar to silks, making it a good first aerial apparatus to build strength for silks or lyra. Hammock is also its own discipline and can be just as challenging as the other forms as students advance. Students familiar with aerial hoop can expect to see familiar shapes and patterns on the fabric. Aerial Hoop and Aerial Fabrics are great complementary classes for well-rounded growth.

Dance the night away with your besties as you enjoy drinks and hors d’oeuvres while your instructor guides you through burlesque dance. This costume-themed excursion will let you dust off your favorite costume and heels. Join us for this fun night out and celebrate the Halloween season!

Session 3: Introduction to Watercolors – Van Goph Inspired!

Four Week Session

Brighten up your winter days. Learn to paint beautiful watercolor sunflowers or tulips inspired by the great Vincent van Goph. Start with sketching your flowers from still-life. Become familiar with the watercolor palette and practice techniques in creating watercolor paintings, including layering, color-mixing, washes, masking, and color usage. Work with an inspiring instructor to guide you through the process. This class is for all levels of expertise. Experienced watercolor students can start out at your talent level, new students will start out at a beginner level and grow at your own pace.
Session 4: Acrylic Painting
February 10 – March 17
Six Week Session

Welcome to acrylic painting! In this class you will learn color-mixing, brush technique, use of value, light and shading. We will practice painting with guided lessons that leave room to express your own creativity. Learn to add the finer details, and allow time to practice what was learned. Students will have the choice to work from a prepared still-life, or you may bring several favorite photos to choose from. Experienced students can start at your level of expertise, new students will learn entry-level skills and grow and progress at your own pace. With this specialized class, you’ll be provided various techniques, and individualized instruction to help you refine your skills.
Session 5: Intro to: Gel Printing
April 21 – May 12
Four Week Session

Learn the art of gel printing with the amazing gel plate! In this beginner class you will learn to create vibrant prints of botanicals, fibers, and textiles. You will also learn to create a stunning layered photo transfer print. The silicone plate is versatile and can create beautiful prints of shapes and dimensional items. Feel like you are not an artist but want to create projects with a beautiful outcome? This class is for you! Enjoy this engaging process and discover the unexpected beauty in every print! Your wonderful art instructor will walk you through, and guide and inspire you along the way.
